When Blogging Doesn’t Count

I suppose there are a lot of times when blogging doesn’t count.

This sure is one of them.

As I watch the protests in Myanmar/Burma slowly die down, and the Military Dictatorship tighten their strangle hold on the country I’m sure of a few things, and unsure of many more.

I’m sure

  • That nothing I write here will make any difference how things turn out over there.
  • I’m sure that my love for my many friends there, and the country as a whole, is growing larger every day.
  • One way or the other God will let me return to see my friends again.
  • That God is in control, even though I can’t see it!

I’m unsure

  • Of how this all will play out.
  • of any way short of violence that the dictators of Myanmar will brought low.
  • Of when I’ll get to go back again, or who I’ll be able to see when I do.
  • Of how my dear friends there can cope with all this – but very sure they will!

In all of this blogging doesn’t count. And that doesn’t bother me much either, because all the pretty speeches, pronouncements, sanctions and resolutions that the politicians and special envoys come up with don’t count either!

So I continue to pray for my friends, and the country as a whole, and struggle to trust God to work all this out in a way that bring glory to His Gospel, freedom to the people, and a wider field of work there as well.

May God bless Burma/Myanmar!
