Starting Well Is GREAT, But…
You just knew that but was coming didn’t you? Yes, life always seems to work that way.
Yesterday KCC kicked off our latest Spiritual Growth Campaign called, Salt ‘N Light (SNL). It was a good day. We had a lot of people there (in spite of some folks who had to be absent), a great spirit, fantastic worship music and as if all that wasn’t enough, the Lord kindly provided us with Pentecost level winds the entire morning!
You know it’s blowing hard when veteran Kingmanites say so! We are the windy smaller town in Arizona after all.
I’m excited to see what God is going to do here during our first week of SNL. We had one small group form Sunday morning, and you yes you, can start one right now! Just call some friends, pick a day, time and place, and get a hold of the great small group material Pastor Brian wrote, if you don’t already have it (just call the office, we’ll hook you up!).
So, yes, we’ve started well. And you know what? That’s great, that’s exciting, and in the long run it doesn’t really mean much at all!
What really counts is how we finish, not how we start! We’ve got two months to really dig in, allow Jesus to change us, get involved in our La Senita outreach, and help KCC make a difference in this town!
Will you do it?
It all comes down to the truth I talked about yesterday in the message. Choose this day who you will serve. Accepting Jesus is a choice. Growing in Jesus is a choice. Serving Jesus is also a choice.
Every single one of us has some big decisions looming in our very near future. As the Holy Spirit nudges us to step out in faith here, get out of my comfort zone there, change things up over there, and to start living the exciting life of faith!
If you’re life is boring I can tell you one thing for sure – you aren’t living by faith! When you study the lives of the people in both the Bible and church who lived by faith, you see many things there, but one thing you don’t see much of is boredom!
So let’s start off SNL with a bang! Read your devotional, apply yesterdays message, and get involved!
