Short Rounds #19

Welcome to my Happy 4th of July extended weekend edition of Short Rounds. Because of the holiday I probably won’t be posting much till Wednesday of next week. So to make up for that I’ve got more great links for you to check out than usual!

Enjoy!

The Devil’s Dictionary:

Alright, calm down now! This isn’t a Satanic site at all, it’s a funny one! Here you can find all sort of words defined in funny and often try ways. Check it out and see for yourself!
Confronting Error:

Here’s an interesting post the centers around Whitefield’s Letter to Wesley: Confronting Error in Love and Truth. John Wesley and George Whitefield loved each other but over the years grew to disagree with each other strongly on certain issues.

What did they do? They didn’t tear each other down. They agreed to disagree agreeably! They worked for the Lord separately but lovingly.

Lots of good stuff to chew on.

The Religion & Politics In American Life Survey:

Here’s an interesting online survey I took. It’s about faith in American life and how it effects our political views. Like most such surveys it’s a little can be frustrating in places, but on the other hand through provoking as well.

Plus it’s a good way to influence how people think about things like this – so why not do it? It’ll take about 10 minutes or so.

Mozilla Firefox Cheat Sheet:

If your main browser is Firefox like mine is, you’ll probably find this page helpful. It outlines all sorts of shortcuts you can use to make Firefox do it’s thing.

Just print it out and go!

Rick Warren – One of 15 People Who Make America Great:

Newsweek Magazine has published an interesting list of 15 people who they think are making America great – who are making a real difference.

The list is interesting. It includes Brad Pitt, Target and oddly enough Solidad O’Brien (CNN Anchor). I have no idea why she’s in there – but regardless there’s one well known Christian in the list – Rick Warren.

I’m sure this will only confirm to all the Warren haters out there that has completely apostatized from the faith!

As for me, well I owe Rick a lot, but that doesn’t mean I always agree with him, lately he’s signed on to somethings that really concern me.

Never-the-less his ministry has impacted millions of lives for Christ, his church baptizes around 1500 people a year – so he certainally deserve to be on this list IMHO.

More Salt in the Episcopalian Wound:

Here’s a great look at what’s going on in the Episcopalian church written with style. Mark Driscoll’s style to be exact!

He makes some great points, and does so in a way you’re not likely to forget! I highly reccomend ou read this and think about what he’s saying.

Worldmeteres – Real Time World Statistics:

Wanna know how much money the government has spent so far this year? Or what the population is or how many people are dying from hunger, or any number of other things?

This site has it all, and you can watch the number grow or shrink depending on what catagory you are looking at.

It’ll make you think that’s for sure!
