An Amazing Response From Alpha Company
[Updated Picture at bottom of post] What you are looking at is a plaque that we got in response to a small offering we took around Christmas time.
Someone asked in church if they could ask for offerings to buy phone cards to send to the troops overseas. Of course I said yes, and so after church on that Sunday she stood in the back and people gave her whatever they wanted to contribute.
We raised about $50 – not a big amount by most standards.
Frankly I forgot all about it, and never expected to get anything back! But we did, and you are looking at it! Sure, they got the name of the church wrong – but who cares?
My deepest thanks and gratitude go out to Alpha Company, 325th Brigade Support Battalion, (see here as well) The Chargers.
Here’s what the Certificate says:
Certificate of Appreciation
Alpha Company 325th Brigade Support Battalion
Is Presented to
The Church on the River
In appreciation of the generous donation of 1000 phone cards for the Soldiers of Alpha Company, 325th Brigade Support Battalion.
The generosity of all those involved have made an immeasurable positive impact on the Soldiers and their families. Your Gracious contribution speaks volumes of your support for the members of the armed services, which is significant towards the morale of the Soldiers that selflessly serve their country.
Thank you for the goodwill and support.
Well thank you, Alpha Company 325th Brigade Support Battalion – the honor is all ours!
I’ve posted this in the foyer of the church so everyone can see it. It’s amazing to me that they’d go to all this trouble, and shows the character of the modern American military.
Here’s a shot of them in action:

Chaplain (Capt ) Martin Cho, battalion chaplain, 325th Brigade Support Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, helps unload more than 50 boxes of school supplies, toys, stuffed animals and soccer balls.
God bless all our men and women overseas – and this year I hope we’ll do a whole lot better by them than a mere $50!!
